Description
What kind of wine it is
Titolo by Elena Fucci is a red wine made from 100% Aglianico, an authentic expression of the Aglianico del Vulture appellation. It begins with hand selection of the clusters, forming the basis for a red with great structure and aromatic depth, one that tells the story of its terroir with precision.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in the municipality of Barile, in the province of Potenza, at the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture appellation in Basilicata. Harvesting is done by hand, with a selection of the clusters toward the end of October, when Aglianico reaches full ripeness in this volcanic area.
How it is made
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 22–24 °C. The wine then ages for at least twelve months in new French oak barriques and refines for a further twelve months in bottle before release. This extended process builds the tannic structure and aromatic complexity typical of the wine.
Tasting notes
It shows an intense ruby red color, with evident garnet highlights. On the nose it opens with a broad, ethereal bouquet, with notes of cherry and currant, enriched by hints of rosemary, tobacco and cinnamon. On the palate it is warm and dry, with good structure and a long persistence on the aromatic finish.
Food pairings
This Aglianico del Vulture is perfect with braised meats and game. It pairs just as seamlessly with roasts, grilled meats and aged cheeses, where its warm structure and persistence find a natural balance.
When to serve it
It is a wine suited to important meat-based meals, where its structure and aromatic complexity can fully express themselves. It lends itself well to convivial occasions in the colder months, alongside dishes of game or grilled meats.
