Description
What kind of wine is it
The Amarone della Valpolicella by Niviana is a red wine from Veneto created from a meticulous blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. The grapes, which are left to partially dry and then vinified in steel, make this wine stand out for its full and structured profile. Aging in oak barrels gives it a velvety texture and remarkable persistence on the palate that makes it ideal for pairing with robust dishes.
Where it comes from
This Veronese red originates from vineyards located in the province of Verona, within the acclaimed Amarone della Valpolicella denomination. The wine's identity is deeply rooted in this specific area, which has a long-standing tradition for producing great dried-grape reds. The geographical setting shapes the authentic character of the native varieties used and enhances their unique qualities and vocation.
How it is produced
The grapes undergo a strict drying process for about three months in well-ventilated drying rooms, a fundamental technique to prevent mold formation and to concentrate the aromas. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks to ensure precise temperature management. The process ends with a ten-month rest in oak barrels before bottling.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color with subtle garnet highlights. The nose reveals well-defined aromas of wilted rose and maraschino cherry, harmoniously integrated with delicate ethereal and spicy nuances. On the palate, it is robust and velvety, developing towards a harmonious and persistent finish reminiscent of the aromas perceived on the nose.
Food pairings
The flavor intensity of this red makes it perfect for hearty dishes, as it enhances the bold flavors of traditional savory cuisine. It pairs excellently with baked pasta, cheese gnocchi, and recipes based on braised game. Its enveloping body is also recommended to balance the richness of complex sauces and flavorful main courses.
When to serve it
It is the ideal choice to enhance the table during important lunches or dinners, especially in the presence of rich, slow-cooked dishes. Its substantial structure deserves to be savored with care as it accompanies the main courses of the menu. A wine capable of delivering intensity and depth to moments of togetherness that include high-quality gastronomic creations.
