Description

King Coal Cabernet Sauvignon-Syrah by K Vintners is a red wine from the Royal Slope in Washington State, born from the union of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes sourced from the Stoneridge Vineyard, a vineyard on alluvial gravel with caliche and basalt subsoils that lend structure, intensity, and depth.

The grapes are fermented with native yeasts in French oak vats, with co-fermentation of whole berries and whole clusters, followed by extended skin contact and aging on the lees in French oak barriques, some of which are new.

The aromatic profile recalls black cherry, cassis, dark fruits, fresh tobacco, cocoa, dried herbs, and mineral notes, with a broad, enveloping, and structured palate characterized by dense tannins and a persistent finish.

It pairs well with grilled red meats, braised dishes, game, spicy foods, and aged cheeses.
