Description

What kind of wine is it

Taurasi from Bosco del Sabato is a red wine made from Aglianico grapes grown in the Irpinia region. This red acquires its bold character thanks to a prolonged aging in French oak barriques. The result is a glass with a dark and intense aromatic profile that offers a full and velvety taste with a spicy finish.

Where it comes from

This Taurasi originates in Irpinia, an area of Campania deeply tied to winemaking. Aglianico grapes thrive on volcanic soils, an agronomic base that gives great expressiveness to the clusters. The unique territorial context is directly reflected in the glass and transforms the volcanic matrix into an authentic testimony of its place of origin.

How it is made

The grapes are hand-picked, crushed and subjected to maceration in steel for about three weeks with selected yeasts. After malolactic fermentation, the wine undergoes a long period of maturation in French oak barriques. This attentive production process guides the evolution of aromas and shapes the taste structure, combining technical expertise with the slow pace of maturation.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows an intense ruby red color. The bouquet opens with aromas of sour cherry, plum, and Maiatica cherry, enriched by hints of licorice and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rounded, offering a mouth-filling and velvety sip. The tasting proceeds with a broad palate and finishes with distinct and persistent spicy notes.

Food pairings

This red is the ideal companion for red meat dishes and recipes featuring game. Its enveloping structure also pairs perfectly with first courses dressed with flavorful meat sauces. The roundness of the sip and the velvety texture support the richness of the seasonings, while its aromatic intensity and spicy notes balance the succulence of the dishes.

When to serve it

It is the perfect choice to accompany important dinners and those moments when you wish to enjoy a structured red wine that enhances rich meat courses. Thanks to its prolonged maturation in wood, it offers a satisfying and deep tasting experience. Bring it to the table to enhance the fullness and spicy finish that sets it apart, allowing the wine to gradually open up in the glass.
