Prosecco
Prosecco is one of the most successful Italian wines and one of the ambassadors of Made in Italy around the world. It is produced from Glera grapes, using the Charmat method, which involves the taking of foam and re-fermentation in autoclaves, which especially enhances the floral and fruity aromas that characterise it. It is produced both white and rosé and in versions such as Brut, Extra Dry or Dry, respectively from the driest to the sweetest, depending on the residual sugar present.
The Prosecco production area is very wide, extending across Veneto and Friuli Venezia-Giulia, while Prosecco's qualitative pinnacles are represented by the wines produced on the wonderful hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and in its sub-zone Cartizze, a small cru of only 108 hectares.
