Nerello Mascalese

Nerello Mascalese is an indigenous Sicilian vine, closely linked to the volcanic slopes of Etna. Here the soil is rich in minerals and the particular climatic conditions give this vine unique characteristics.

Characterized by a not too deep ruby red color, Nerello Mascalese produces wines that are appreciated for their potential elegance and drinkability. On the nose, they often present aromas of fresh red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, with floral notes of violets and subtle hints of spice and tobacco, further enriched by a light mineral touch. In the mouth, the wine reveals a medium robust structure, supported by lively acidity and fine but persistent tannins, which promise good aging potential.

Thanks to its peculiarities, Nerello Mascalese is best expressed in wines that are capable of telling the story of the Etna area, combining aromatic intensity with a surprising balance and freshness.
