Today, with great enthusiasm, we name the wine region of the year according to Vino.com: the extraordinary and fascinating Rioja.

The historical richness of Rioja wines, along with their extraordinary ability to represent the terroir, makes this region one of the most prestigious and beloved by wine enthusiasts worldwide. With a millennial winemaking tradition, Rioja is known for its constant commitment to producing quality wines, especially aged reds that can mature for years.

In the Rioja DOCa denomination, the most renowned in the region, one can discover wines with unique typicity and unmistakable characteristics: the young reds (Rioja Joven) highlight the freshness and fruit of Tempranillo; the Rioja Crianza, with at least three years of aging (including at least six months in barrels), offers a good balance between fruit and wood; the Rioja Reserva, aged for at least three years (at least one year in wood), combines elegance and complexity; while the Rioja Gran Reserva, with at least five years of aging (two in barrels, three in bottles), represents the pinnacle of tradition with evolved aromas and refined tannins.

Alongside the traditional oak-aged reds, Rioja also offers modern whites made with Viura or the latest Tempranillo Blanco, providing floral, citrus, and tropical notes, thus enriching the stylistic range of the region.
