Description
What kind of wine it is
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Reius by Sartori di Verona is a structured red wine made from a blend of native grapes including Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Croatina. It evolves through slow maturation in concrete, oak barrels, and bottle, following the traditional appassimento method. This wine offers a velvety texture and remarkable length on the palate.
Where it comes from
The grapes are sourced from hillside vineyards located in the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico area, northwest of Verona. The zone is characterized by calcareous-marl soils, geological elements that grant the wine a distinct identity. These soil features provide a broad structure and enhance a defined aromatic perception to give the wine great character.
How it is produced
Manual harvesting comes before a three-month drying process in crates in dry, ventilated rooms. After crushing, fermentation lasts for thirty days in stainless steel. The wine then matures for twelve months in concrete and three years in medium and large oak barrels, and finally ages for an additional six months in bottle.
Tasting notes
Deep red in appearance with delicate garnet hues. The aromatic profile releases spicy aromas complemented by distinct notes of dried fruits and small red berries. On the palate, it reveals a full body and a complex evolution, supported by a velvety structure that leaves a long, consistent finish.
Food pairings
This red pairs perfectly with richly flavored dishes. It is recommended with game dishes and selections of grilled meats, where the wine’s substance balances out well-seasoned preparations. It also excels next to spicy cheeses and long-aged varieties, creating a pleasant synergy of flavors.
When to serve it
This wine is ideal for important gatherings and special occasions, as it requires time to fully express itself. Its profound character also makes it a perfect choice to enjoy at the end of a meal. Serve in large glasses to allow a slow oxygenation, so that its fruity and spicy components can reveal their full complexity.
