Description

What kind of wine it is

Barbera d’Alba Sovrana Beni di Batasiolo is a red wine from the Langhe, made exclusively from Barbera grapes. The wine is vinified in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, and maturation between oak and steel defines a style that is both fresh and intense, with a fruity and spicy profile and a distinctly persistent finish.

Where it comes from

It originates in Piedmont, in the Langhe region, within the area of Barbera d’Alba. It is produced by Beni di Batasiolo, a reference brand in the local wine scene for over four decades. Its Langhe origin offers an agile yet well-defined expression, focused on fruit and vibrant flavor.

How it is produced

The Barbera grapes are destemmed and started on fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 10–12 days, so as to preserve the aromatic precision and cleanness of the fruit. Ageing continues partly in French oak barriques and partly in Slavonian oak casks, finishing in stainless steel tanks, maintaining the balance between freshness and intensity.

Tasting notes

In the glass it appears ruby red with purple hues. On the nose, aromas of red fruits are perceived, with hints of cherries in spirit and spicy notes. On the palate it is fresh and intense, with a linear development and a finish of good persistence.

Food pairings

At the table it naturally accompanies cured meat appetizers, thanks to its freshness that cleanses the palate. With first courses it supports flavorsome dishes without weighing them down, while with grilled red meat it finds a direct pairing, enhancing intensity and persistence.

When to serve it

This is a red wine suited to convivial occasions and lunches or dinners where a wine of character but with a lively pace is desired. Its freshness makes it versatile when salumi, first courses, or grilled meats are on the table, while maturation in barrique and casks adds spicy nuances without overshadowing the fruit.
