Description

What Type of Wine It Is

Beccaia by I Tirreni is a Tuscan red wine produced in the renowned Bolgheri area. It is made from a blend of red grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, selected to enhance the unique qualities of each variety. The style of this red offers a full-bodied and structured sip in a glass that stands out for its distinct varietal notes.

Where It Comes From

The grapes come from vineyards on the plains, located about one kilometer from the coastline in Tuscany. This specific location allows the vines to benefit from the constant influence of coastal breezes, a fundamental factor for the proper development of the grapes. Growing in this coastal environment defines a precise origin, in perfect harmony with the local terroir.

How It Is Made

Production begins with vinification carried out in small steel containers, allowing the bunches of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot to be processed separately. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques. In the same wooden containers, the wine continues to age for eight months, a key step in shaping the final structure of the wine.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color with a delicate purple rim. On the nose, it reveals the typical varietal notes of Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by the warm, fruity aromas of Merlot. On the palate, the entry is bold, immediately highlighting a full-bodied sip that develops with aromatic consistency, supported by a dense texture for excellent persistence.

Food Pairings

Its aromatic intensity makes it suitable for accompanying game dishes and flavorful stewed meats. The full palate balances the richness of the most savory recipes and strongly supports slow-cooked dishes. Beyond main courses, it also enhances a platter of blue cheeses, where its important structure naturally and pleasantly balances on the palate.

When to Serve It

This red is the ideal choice when you want to bring a wine with a well-defined technical profile to the table, capable of enriching lunches and dinners based around meat. It is appreciated in settings where a glass with pronounced ripe fruit is desired. Thanks to aging in wood, it is suitable for a contemplative drink in the glass. Serving it during a convivial moment best enhances its enjoyable drinkability.
