Description
What kind of wine it is
The Bourgogne Chardonnay signed by Antoine Jobard is a white wine produced in Burgundy, with grapes also sourced from prestigious territories located in Meursault. In this label, the expression of Chardonnay reveals a classic, energetic and profound style, distinguished by a harmonious structure and a remarkable capacity to evolve over time. Fermentation and subsequent maturation in used oak barrels, along with a long rest on the lees, define a profile focused on balance and precision, which faithfully reflects the character of the terroir.
Where it comes from
The vineyards cultivated by Antoine Jobard cover six hectares, mainly within the boundaries of Meursault, one of the most esteemed areas in Burgundy. The company’s agronomic approach is based on extremely low yields, a rigorous choice that directly enhances the wine’s aromatic concentration and flavor endurance. The Bourgogne regional denomination frames the origins of the cuvée, which benefits from the influence of parcels renowned for producing structured, long-lived wines, guaranteeing a sip that is both defined and true to its provenance.
How it’s produced
The winemaking process begins with an accurate manual harvest, followed by a strict selection of bunches. Fermentation takes place in used oak barrels, a method that ensures a gentle and measured influence of wood. Afterwards, the wine undergoes a lengthy ageing on the lees, which is essential for developing structure and complexity. Overall maturation lasts from twenty to twenty-four months, using barrels that have already undergone up to ten production cycles in order to express the terroir with elegance and depth.
Tasting notes
On visual inspection, this white presents a brilliant straw yellow color, remarkable for its brightness. The nose is clear and well-defined, dominated by fresh citrus notes reminiscent of lemon, intertwined with scents of tropical fruit such as pineapple, all enhanced by elegant nuances from oak. On the palate, the entry is full and orderly, supported by a rounded structure that leads to a persistent finish. The aftertaste leaves a distinct memory of well-integrated wood, enriching the overall aromatic profile.
Food pairings
At the table, this white wine naturally accompanies dishes based on grilled or oven-baked fish, where its fresh citrus elements match the delicacy of the meat without overpowering its flavor. Thanks to its structured texture and barrel ageing, it also pairs perfectly with richer gastronomic preparations, enhancing dishes made with shellfish or scallops. A classic pairing in French cuisine sees it alongside coquilles Saint-Jacques, a combination that highlights the softness and long persistence of each sip.
When to serve it
This label represents the perfect choice when seeking a classic, complex, and well-defined taste profile, suitable for an elegant seafood dinner or a focused tasting session. The rigorous production approach guarantees a pronounced capacity for evolution, allowing the wine to mature further if cellared. It is pleasant and energetic in its youth, but also rewards patience as it reveals greater aromatic depth over time. This is a white designed for enjoyment over several years, allowing you to follow its maturation step by step.
