Description
The Bourgogne Chardonnay Clos des Six Ouvrées from Domaine Rougeot is a white wine produced in the heart of the village of Meursault, inside the Domaine's garden. This walled clos, located at the base of the hill and just a few meters from the "Les Chevalières" climat, offers an ideal terroir to express an elegant and fresh Chardonnay, so much so that it is considered a "Petit Meursault" for its finesse and complexity.
The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-pressed with gentle pneumatic pressing. After two days of cold settling, the must ferments with indigenous yeasts and completes malolactic fermentation in French barriques, only 5% of which are new. After 18 months of aging in wood, the wine is transferred to stainless steel tanks for a month's rest before filtration and bottling, maintaining its tension and freshness.
On the nose, it opens with elegant notes of wet stone, white peach, citrus, and almond. On the palate, it is rich and tense, with vibrant acidity balancing the creamy structure. The finish is long and savory, with a beautiful aromatic complexity that perfectly reflects the Burgundian terroir.
Excellent with white fish, scallops, roast chicken, or quality charcuterie.
