Description
What kind of wine it is
Bourgogne Cuvée Latour Blanc Louis Latour is a white wine from Burgundy made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. It is born in the Côte d’Or and stands out for a technical and direct style that highlights both the characteristics of the territory and the expertise of Louis Latour. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in steel tanks, with 8–10 months of maturation in the same containers to preserve the authenticity of the fruit and a well-defined saline profile.
Where it comes from
This Bourgogne comes from the Côte d’Or in Burgundy, and is crafted from a selection of Chardonnay grapes picked in the areas of Meursault, Puligny, and Chassagne. The cuvée is designed to express the territorial identity through a clear reading of the fruit, striking a balance between freshness, salinity, and a harmonious structure.
How it is made
The Chardonnay grapes, harvested between Meursault, Puligny, and Chassagne, are vinified with alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation also in steel. Maturation takes place for 8–10 months in the same containers, a choice that maintains the wine’s linear profile and aromatic clarity, avoiding any marks from the use of wood.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays a straw yellow color. The nose reveals notes of white fruit and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, it is creamy and fresh, with an elegant saline imprint that supports its progression; the structure remains solid while the smoothness of the sip balances out the sharper notes, offering a pleasant drinkability.
Food pairing
At the table, it naturally accompanies fish dishes that enhance both the creaminess and freshness of the wine. The recommended pairing is baked sea bream fillet in a crust, where the structure supports the dish and the salinity harmonizes with the finish, allowing notes of white fruit and hints of vanilla to stand out.
When to serve it
This is a white wine suited to lunches and dinners when a fresh, creamy profile and a clean expression of fruit are desired. The choice of steel for fermentation and maturation guides the style toward precision and smoothness—qualities that are valuable when seeking a saline sip to accompany seafood cuisine without overpowering it.
