Description

What kind of wine is it

Brunello di Montalcino Rabissi is a Tuscan red wine made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Montalcino area. The red vinification at controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins, is designed to offer structure and aromatic clarity. The prolonged aging in tonneaux and oak barrels, followed by a period in the bottle, defines a full and elegant style, conceived to evolve over time.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from vineyards located in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, in the Montalcino area of Tuscany. The parcels are situated between 200 and 300 meters above sea level on predominantly clay-rich soils, conditions that favor regular ripening and a solid, orderly taste profile.

How is it made

Harvesting is manual with strict bunch selection, focusing on high-quality raw material. Fermentation takes place in red at a controlled temperature between 26 and 28 °C, with skin maceration to extract aromatic and tannic components. After an initial rest in steel, the wine matures for at least two years in tonneaux and oak barrels, and completes its evolution with further bottle refinement, following traditional local practices.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color with garnet highlights. The nose reveals ripe fruit and jam aromas, followed by spicy nuances and light toasted notes from the wood aging. On the palate, it delivers a warm and persistent sensation, with well-integrated yet elegant tannins and a structure supporting balance and aging potential.

Food pairing

It pairs well with grilled red meats and aged cheeses, thanks to its structure and tannic texture. It's also recommended with game dishes with intense flavors, where its persistence and spicy notes stand out.

When to serve

This is a red wine to bring to the table when you want a structured and complete wine, suitable for convivial occasions and important dishes. The tannic profile and oak aging also make it perfect for cellaring, with a strong aptitude for bottle evolution. Served at the right temperature, it expresses aromatic intensity and lasting flavor, while maintaining an elegant character.
