Description
What kind of wine it is
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Adalberto by Caprili is a red wine made from grapes harvested in the Vigna Madre, with vines that are fifty-two years old. Careful winemaking gives it a warm and harmonious profile, with a defined structure and intense notes of ripe fruit. The long aging in Slavonian oak barrels helps to shape the balance and deep character of this Riserva.
Where it comes from
It originates in Montalcino, on the famous Tuscan hill, in the Podere Caprili owned by the Bartolommei family, who have been growing vineyards here since the beginning of the century. The grapes come from the Vigna Madre on the southwest slope, a geographical position that ensures optimal ripening. This exposure gives the wine a deep and composed character, remaining true to the traditional local style.
How it is produced
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts is followed by a twenty-five-day maceration on the skins, ideal for extracting the perfect structure. The wine then matures for at least four years in large Slavonian oak barrels. Its journey concludes with at least six months of bottle aging, an essential step to definitively stabilize the aromatic profile.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays a ruby red color with garnet hues, consistent with long aging in wood. On the nose, clear aromas of ripe fruit emerge, enriched by distinct ethereal and spicy notes. On the palate, a warm and persistent sip follows, mirroring the aromas and supported by a steady progression.
Food pairings
The richness of this Riserva calls for substantial gastronomic matches. Its natural pairing is with roasted or stewed game, where the wine’s depth supports intense flavors and long cooking times. It is also ideal with the classic Florentine steak, where the meat's intensity perfectly enhances the harmony and spicy character of the wine.
When to serve it
Designed for thoughtful tasting, it is perfect to accompany special lunches and dinners featuring meat. The long production process gives it a complex flavor profile that makes it suitable for occasions requiring a persistent wine. Its important structure makes it particularly enjoyable in the cooler months, guaranteeing an always intense and profound experience.
