Description
What kind of wine it is
Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles by Domaine Bruno Clair is an elegant red wine produced in Burgundy from Pinot Noir grapes. It displays a precise and defined style, characterized by a clear fruity profile and a well-balanced tannic texture, the result of skilled and lengthy maturation in wood. The meticulous vinification process, including the use of whole grapes and barrique aging, gives it a solid structure without ever hiding the authentic varietal character, thus offering a harmonious and consistent red wine.
Where it comes from
This red wine comes from the renowned Chambolle-Musigny appellation, located in the Côte de Nuits, an area famous for refined expressions of Pinot Noir. The specific Les Véroilles plot features vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils, which are essential to ensure tension and a clear aromatic definition. The southeast exposure and average altitude of 325 metres promote steady grape ripening and maintain an enviable freshness in the glass.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with the inclusion of some whole bunches of grapes, a choice that enriches the wine’s texture and aromatic complexity. Maceration lasts ten to fifteen days in wooden vats, allowing for measured and precise extraction of both colour and tannins. The process concludes with a slow ageing period in oak barriques for eighteen to twenty months, supporting perfect structural integration.
Tasting notes
In the glass it reveals a bright ruby red colour, true to the visual identity of Pinot Noir. The nose offers intense notes focused on small red fruits, with an aromatic profile standing out for its remarkable purity and immediacy. On the palate it shows remarkable flavour finesse and develops through a balanced progression leading to a persistent finish, where the influence of the wood gently accompanies drinkability.
Food pairings
Its enveloping structure and persistent sip make it ideal for pairing with red meat dishes, especially roast preparations. The delicacy of its balance also marries beautifully with game recipes, supporting the dish with precision. It is particularly suitable in combination with regional Burgundy recipes, such as a fragrant Boeuf Bourguignon or a savoury stewed hare dish, assuring cleanliness and harmony.
When to serve it
It is an excellent choice to accompany a full dinner, capable of enriching a structured table while retaining great ease of drinking. The long ageing guarantees excellent potential for bottle evolution over the years. To fully appreciate its many nuances and clear fruity profile, it is recommended to serve it at the right temperature and allow sufficient aeration, so as to offer a neat tasting experience.
