Description

What kind of wine it is

Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier is a Champagne Brut produced in the prestigious Champagne region from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. This Champagne Brut is crafted through a meticulous blending process designed to combine structure, finesse, and freshness, resulting in a highly representative style. The vinification follows the Traditional Method (Méthode Champenoise), with secondary fermentation in the bottle, followed by a lengthy period of aging on the lees, which gives the wine a silky texture and a complex aromatic profile.

Origin

This wine comes from Champagne and is made from carefully selected grapes from eleven of the more than three hundred Crus in the region. The careful selection of these different geographical sources allows for a coherent organoleptic profile and highlights the specific characteristics of the French terroir. The Grand Siècle project reflects the vision of Bernard de Nonancourt, aiming to create a cuvée of great balance through the art of blending, resulting in a final product characterized by profound stylistic precision.

Production

The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir bunches are harvested and selected entirely by hand to ensure maximum fruit integrity. The production is based on a blend of different vintages, a technical choice that allows for a harmonious fusion of complementary elements. This is followed by the prise de mousse and a long aging in the bottle for at least ten years on its lees, a crucial step that defines the structure and creamy texture of the sip.

Tasting notes

It displays a bright straw yellow color, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it expresses an intense bouquet dominated by aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, with clear hints of lemon and clementine. The aromatic profile is progressively enriched with notes of fresh butter and hints of hazelnut. On the palate, it reveals an incredibly silky touch, supported by a vibrant mineral tension and a persistent freshness that accompanies the entire tasting experience.

Food pairing

Excellent as an elegant aperitif, it pairs perfectly with raw shellfish, fish dishes, and white meat preparations. The ideal pairing is with a seafood platter, where the savoriness of the food is flawlessly balanced by the pronounced mineral quality of the wine. Its versatile structure and buttery component make it an ideal accompaniment even for dishes such as sole meunière, ensuring a clean finish and a perfectly balanced palate.

When to serve it

Perfect to open a meal, it is ideally suited for formal occasions where a refined and essential profile is sought. The long period of aging on the lees gives this wine remarkable depth, making it the right choice when you want to enjoy great aromatic complexity. To fully appreciate it, a careful service is recommended, which highlights its fine perlage, enhancing the persistence and overall harmony of the glass.
