Champagne AOC Cuvée Saint-Pétersbourg Veuve Clicquot
Description
The Champagne Cuvèe Saint-Pétersbourg is dedicated to the audacity of Madame Clicquot, widow Ponsardin, who despite the continental blockade of 1814 that immobilized Europe, managed to deliver her champagne to St. Petersburg. After this event, the Russian nobility considered the Cuvèe Saint-Pétersbourg one of the best bubbles in the world.
It is produced with a predominance of Pinot Noir, which gives it a strong character, while Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier give it softness and elegance.
Saint-Pétersbourg is characterized by an intense straw yellow color, with golden reflections and very fine little bubbles. The nose opens with a bouquet of ripe fruits, enriched with elegant aromas of brioche, crunchy almonds and sweet spicy notes. On the palate it is pleasantly round, with a perfect balance between softness, acidity and flavor.
Perfect to accompany aperitifs, fish, shellfish and seafood dishes, it is ideal in combination with first courses, vegetables and mature cheeses.
