Description
This Chianti Classico Riserva is one of the most traditional expressions of the Viticcio winery, produced in Greve in Chianti from Sangiovese grapes with small percentages of Merlot and Syrah. The vineyards are located between 230 and 400 meters above sea level with south-southwest, north and south exposures, on clay soils rich in alberese and colombino stones.
The vinification involves alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at 26-30°C and maceration for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place both in steel and in wood. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barriques and for another 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, developing structure and complexity.
In the glass, it shows an intense red color. On the nose, it opens with notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, leather, and mineral nuances that evolve towards hints of dried fruit and forest. On the palate, it is still fresh, balanced, and well-defined, with remarkable aging potential.
Perfect with braised meats, stewed game, roasted beef cuts, or aged hard cheeses.
