Description
Badia a Coltibuono's Chianti Classico Riserva is born in the vineyards of Poggino, Vignone, Montebello, and Argenina, located in Monte in Chianti, in the province of Siena. This traditional wine is produced only in the best years.
It is made from Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino grapes, hand-harvested between the second half of September and the first half of October. The grapes undergo natural fermentation on indigenous yeasts and are then macerated for at least three weeks on the skins, with periodic punching down. The wine matures for 24 months in French and Austrian oak barrels, followed by 4 months of bottle aging.
This Riserva boasts an intense ruby red color. The nose reveals balsamic notes accompanied by floral hints, cherries in spirit, licorice, and chocolate. On the palate, it is warm and pleasant, with a harmonious balance between great freshness and a full body.
Perfect for pairing with roasts, game, and aged cheeses.
