Description
The Ech 9zeaux Grand Cru Famille Gagey from Maison Louis Jadot is a prestigious red wine, made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes cultivated in the renowned C f4te de Nuits region of Burgundy. This cru is located near Vosne-Roman e9e, in a limestone terroir. The East-Southeast position provides the grapes with an ideal exposure, promoting optimal ripening.
Vinification is a meticulous process that begins with hand-picking the grapes in small boxes to preserve the integrity of the fruit. After careful selection and destemming, the maceration takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for a period of three to four weeks, with daily pump-overs. The wine is then aged for about 18 months in oak barrels, which lends the wine further depth and complexity.
In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby red color, with intense aromas of ripe red fruits, delicate spices, and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with silky tannins and a long persistent finish that evolves elegantly. Its aromatic complexity is enriched over time, developing notes of underbrush and spices.
Ideal for accompanying rich dishes such as game, roasted beef or lamb, and aged cheeses.
