Etna Rosso DOC Barbazzale Rosso 2019 Cottanera
Description
The Barbazzale Rosso di Cottanera is a wine with the Etna denomination, made with grapes from the districts of Cottanera, Diciassettesalme, Feudo di Mezzo and Zottorinoto. The bunches are harvested exclusively from vines that grow at about 700 meters on lava-alluvial and lava-clay soil, which are at least fifteen years old.
It is mainly produced with Nerello Mascalese grapes, with a small intake of Nerello Cappuccio grapes. Before fermenting the grapes undergo maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C. Then the wine ages in steel containers for about 5 months.
The color of the wine is bright ruby red. It expresses elegant notes of raspberry, blackberries and wildflowers on the nose that intertwine with slight mineral traces. The mouth is fresh and flowing, animated by an excellent tannin.
It goes well with pizza and semi-mature cheeses. Try it with chicken curry.
