Description
What kind of wine is it
De La Finca by Raventós i Blanc is a natural Brut Nature sparkling wine from Conca del Riu Anoia. Made from a blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeu, and Parellada, it boasts a dry and fresh profile. The winemaking process includes an extended aging on the lees, giving it a creamy texture. This is an expression that offers great tension and a dynamic, elegant sip.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, in the Conca del Riu Anoia. The area is characterized by marine-origin soils, rich in clay and fossils, which impart vibrant freshness and a well-defined minerality to the wine. The vineyards are cultivated following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, to enhance the unique local features consistently and without ever disrupting the natural balance of the environment.
How it is made
The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by pneumatic pressing at low pressure to extract the best must. The varieties ferment separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, using indigenous yeasts. The wine ages on the lees for 30 months; malolactic fermentation does not occur, and no dosage is added. The absence of malolactic fermentation and dosage defines its rigorous, linear style.
Tasting notes
It reveals a bright straw yellow color and fine bubbles. The nose releases aromas of white fruit and fresh citrus notes, balanced by subtle mineral hints that recall its terroir. On the palate, it is lively and elegant, combining a pleasant creamy structure with a pronounced minerality that leads to a savory, long, and completely dry finish.
Food pairings
Its freshness and lively sapidity make this Brut Nature perfect for pairing with raw fish and shellfish or platters of fresh cheeses. It marries beautifully with Catalan cuisine, enhancing seafood preparations thanks to its ability to cleanse the palate and respect the ingredients. A classic regional pairing is suquet de peix, where the wine’s tension complements the richness of the broth.
Serving occasions
This is the right choice when looking for a dry and precise wine, ideal for starting a meal or accompanying seafood courses. The long aging on the lees ensures an aromatic complexity that is satisfying without weighing down the palate. The balance between fruity notes and non-dosed structure makes it perfect for moments of conviviality, when you want a lively drink that keeps its tension intact to the last glass.
