Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel 2019 Château Malescasse
Description
This Bordeaux wine from Château Malescasse is born in the commune of Lamarque, between Margaux and Saint-Julien, on the right of the Gironde estuary. The Château, which today has 40 hectares, has been renowned since ancient times for its vineyards and wine. This wine belongs to the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in the Haut-Médoc appellation.
The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (63%), Merlot (22%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The selected grapes are vinified parcel by parcel in steel and concrete vats (60-110 hl), where they remain for 3-4 weeks. Aging takes place for 12 months in oak barrels, of which 1/3 of new wood, 1/3 of first passage and 1/3 of second passage.
In the glass the wine appears of a deep ruby colour. The nose reveals hints of black currant, blackberry, strawberry and licorice. The sip is juicy, with distinctly mineral notes.
Ideal as an accompaniment to stewed beef stew with vegetables.
