Description

Pekin Red from Jonty’s Ducks is a wine produced from a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, made in the South African region of Paarl.

The vines are on average 13 years old and are cultivated with great attention to sustainability. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented in stainless steel. After a post-fermentation period and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months.

It displays a beautiful ruby red color with garnet highlights, releasing on the nose notes of blackberry, licorice, dark chocolate, and coffee beans. On the palate, it is a real explosion of ripe fruit, very enveloping and full-bodied, with elegant and silky tannins leading to a long, persistent finish.

Ideal for accompanying red meats and braised dishes, it can also be served with flavorful platters of cured meats and cheeses.
