Description
The Maranges produced by Labouré-Roi is a balanced and fragrant Pinot Noir, with vineyards stretching between 240 and 400 meters above sea level in the communes of Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges, and Sampigny-lès-Maranges, on limestone and marl soils well-exposed to the south and southeast.
The manual harvest is followed by a careful selection in the vineyard and cellar. After complete destemming, the grapes are placed in tanks for cold maceration at 8-10°C for 5-8 days. The alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts lasts 15 days with two daily pump-overs. The wine then ages in French oak barrels for about 12 months, completing 100% malolactic fermentation.
It reveals an intense purple red color to the eye. The nose is complex with hints of dark fruit and spices. On the palate, it shows good depth, a delicate toasted note, soft tannins, and a powerful and harmonious aromatic ensemble, well balanced.
It pairs with white and red meats, spicy or exotic dishes, spring rolls, ham in sauce, and grilled pork chops.
