Description

What kind of wine it is

Colpo di Sole by Tenuta Dodici is a white wine produced in southern Tuscany from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Classified as Maremma Toscana, it boasts a well-defined aromatic profile and good persistence. The winemaking process includes a fermentation phase in steel and aging in wood, which imparts the style with a fresh yet structured character. This interpretation of the varietal reflects the work in the cellar overseen by oenologist Cotarella, aiming to offer a balanced tasting that is true to its region of origin.

Where it comes from

This wine is made from vineyards located on the hills of the Maremma, in the southern area of Tuscany. The soil and climate context of southern Tuscany defines the identity of this white, rooted in a territory with a strong winemaking vocation. The Tenuta Dodici estate is owned by Russian entrepreneur Konstantin Tuvykin and his partner, director Nikita Mikhalko. Its Maremma origin connects the grape variety to a clean interpretation, designed to enhance the natural aromas of the grapes.

How it is produced

The grapes are harvested and chilled in cold storage to preserve their integrity. After destemming, cryo-maceration follows, then pressing and must clarification. The fermentation is conducted with selected yeasts inside temperature-controlled steel tanks, ensuring a technically rigorous approach. The cycle is completed by aging in acacia barriques for three months, a step that enhances the fruity component and provides greater smoothness to the wine's structure.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it appears with a golden yellow hue. On the nose, it expresses clear and recognizable aromas, featuring notes of yellow peach, apple, and delicate hints of vanilla. On the palate, it is fresh and structured, revealing a good balance between vibrant acidity and the roundness acquired during aging. The persistence is good, leaving a finish consistent with the fruity sensations perceived on the nose.

Food pairings

At the table, it pairs easily with seafood pasta and dishes based on grilled fish. The wine's natural freshness supports the savoriness of the dishes, while its structure allows it to stand up to preparations with more concentrated flavors. It is recommended for accompanying a seafood menu, where the white complements complex textures and aromas in a measured and balanced way.

When to serve it

This white is ideal to enjoy during lunches and dinners focused on seafood cuisine or in convivial moments where a rewarding and long-lasting sip is sought. Its structure makes it perfect for the whole meal, from appetizers to main courses. Served at the correct temperature, it particularly enhances its aromatic expression, thus offering a consistent and pleasant tasting experience from start to finish.
