Description
What kind of wine is it
Meursault Les Tessons by Michel Bouzereau et Fils is a white wine from Burgundy made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. This dry white stands out for its precise and elegant style, where a broad palate is balanced by a well-defined freshness. The tasting profile reflects great aromatic finesse and highlights a harmonious structure that lingers in a long, clean finish.
Where does it come from
The grapes grow in the Les Tessons plot, a small parcel located within the commune of Meursault. The vines, planted between 1958 and 1989, thrive on clay-limestone soils characterized by exposed rock and red earth. This unique soil composition gives the wine a distinct mineral tension, along with a taste volume that authentically reflects the character of its origin.
How is it made
After harvesting, the Chardonnay undergoes a traditional vinification process, aimed at preserving the distinctive traits of the fruit. The process is completed with a lengthy aging period of sixteen to eighteen months in oak barriques, partly new. This period of rest gives the structure greater complexity and aromatic depth, thus maintaining an orderly flavor profile and enhancing the grape’s natural freshness.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a bright and inviting straw yellow color. The nose opens with aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus peel, enriched by hints of delicate flowers, subtle toasted notes, and clear mineral undertones. On the palate, the entry is broad and well-calibrated, supported by pronounced freshness that balances the structure. The sip ends with a persistent finish, offering a clean and authentic finale true to its place of origin.
Food pairing
This Meursault pairs well with fish and shellfish dishes, especially langoustines, prawns, or oven-baked fillets with light sauces. Its freshness makes it suitable for white meat and poultry recipes. The subtle toasted notes and acidity effectively complement dishes rich in butter or cream, making this wine ideal alongside classics such as sole meunière or escargots à la bourguignonne.
When to serve it
Perfect for refined dinners or a complete meal, this wine shows its best when served chilled. The right serving temperature brings out its mineral hints and citrus vibrancy, as it naturally integrates the nuances from the wood. During tasting, a brief aeration in the glass helps to fully develop its aromatic intensity and depth, resulting in a coherent and satisfying flavour progression.
