Description

What type of wine is it

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo by Cirelli is a red wine made from Montepulciano grapes grown in Abruzzo using organic farming methods. The winemaking uses indigenous yeasts naturally present on the skins, and aging takes place in stainless steel, followed by a period of bottle refinement. The profile is balanced and fresh, with a soft edge and enveloping tannins, maintaining a well-defined fruity character and good persistence.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from vineyards located in the province of Teramo, in Abruzzo, an area tied to the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo denomination. The region of origin is a central reference for the production style, aiming to highlight the local expression. Management is organic, with attention to environmental respect and the recognizability of the grape’s fruity character in this area.

How is it made

The wine is made exclusively from Montepulciano grown in organic vineyards. In the cellar, fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts present on the skins, in line with a winemaking style focused on terroir expression. Maturation takes place in stainless steel containers for about six months, followed by a further month of bottle aging before release.

Tasting notes

It appears a deep ruby red in the glass. The nose reveals notes of red fruit, both fresh and in jam, for a clean and direct aromatic profile. On the palate, the sip is balanced, with marked freshness and a soft touch, supported by enveloping tannins. The finish is persistent, confirming the fruity character perceived on the nose.

Food pairing

It naturally pairs with meat courses, especially when the dish highlights succulence and structure without overpowering the fruit. The recommended pairing is with oven-baked rack of lamb, which harmonizes with the balance of the wine, its freshness, and tannic texture. The notes of red fruit, both fresh and jammy, also complement the aromatic and fatty components of the dish.

When to serve it

This is a red suitable when you desire a fruity and defined profile, capable of combining balance and freshness with an enveloping tannic texture. The stainless steel maturation and bottle refinement make it ready to enjoy immediately, maintaining its clear character. It’s ideal for convivial moments at the table, especially with meat dishes, thanks to its easy drinkability and a persistence that enhances the finish.
