Description

What kind of wine is it

Antoine Jobard's Pommard is a Burgundy red wine produced in the renowned Côte de Beaune area. It is made from Pinot Noir grapes harvested entirely by hand and is distinguished by traditional winemaking that uses only indigenous yeasts. This label delivers a bold, powerful, and well-structured character, defined by well-integrated tannins and a bouquet centered on dark fruit and floral hints. Maturation in wood helps outline a precise style and seamlessly expresses the distinctive character of its origin.

Origin

This label comes from the Côte de Beaune, one of the most prestigious wine areas in all of Burgundy. The Pommard area has a long-standing reputation for producing red wines known for their intensity, aromatic definition, and concentration. Its location favors the development of a profile that aligns with the regional identity and reflects a quality-driven viticulture with careful vineyard selection. The result is a faithful expression of the territorial characteristics, skillfully combining structure and balance.

How it is produced

Harvesting is done exclusively by hand at the optimal stage of ripeness to preserve the integrity of the grapes and maximize aromatic expression. Vinification begins with a five-day cold maceration, followed by a ten-day fermentation in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. Afterwards, the wine matures for twelve months in partly new barrels. This meticulous technical process supports the structure of the wine and beautifully enhances its tannic texture.

Tasting notes

In the glass, the wine displays a particularly intense ruby red color, heralding significant concentration. The nose develops a captivating and precise bouquet, led by plum notes and other black berries, elegantly accompanied by floral hints. On the palate, it reveals a bold, powerful, and structured sip, wrapped in a rich texture. The tannins are well integrated, leading to a neat finish that perfectly reflects the wood aging and the typical style of its appellation.

Food pairings

This red is ideal for pairing with rich and structured dishes, especially game-based preparations, roasts, and red meats. Its solid tannic framework and fruity component perfectly complement juicy cuts and slow-cooked dishes. Exploring regional pairings, it excels alongside traditional recipes like boeuf bourguignon or coq au vin, creating perfect harmony between the intense flavor of braised meat and the depth of the wine.

When to serve it

It is a perfect choice for convivial occasions that call for intense flavors and depth, such as elegant dinners or hearty meat-based lunches. Serving at the right temperature highlights its fruit core and the elegant nuances from wood aging. Thanks to its balanced tannins and robust structure, this red delivers an energetic impact in youth and also offers excellent aging potential, evolving into a harmonious and refined profile after proper cellaring.
