Description

Cune Crianza is a red wine produced in the Rioja region, made primarily from Tempranillo grapes with a small proportion of Garnacha and Mazuelo. The grapes come from vineyards located in the areas around Haro and San Vicente, grown on predominantly clay-limestone soils, without the use of synthetic herbicides.

The grapes are hand-harvested and chilled for 24 hours to prevent oxidation, stabilize the color, and preserve the aromas. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in small stainless steel and concrete tanks with indigenous yeasts, followed by a 24-hour cold maceration. After fermentation, the wine continues to macerate on the skins before being racked. Malolactic fermentation occurs in concrete, and the wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for 24 months, with a further bottle aging of at least three years in the cellars.

The wine shows a purple color. On the nose it offers intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. On the palate it opens soft, with a round, enveloping mid-palate, silky tannins, and a slightly acidic finish that lends freshness and a long, fruity persistence.

This wine is ideal to enjoy with Mediterranean dishes, pasta, rice, cured ham, cheeses, and meats of all kinds.
