Description
Viña Ardanza is an iconic red wine from La Rioja Alta, born from the blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha sourced from selected vineyards in Fuenmayor, Cenicero, and Tudelilla. Resulting from attentive viticulture respecting the characteristics of the land, this wine expresses the elegance and complexity typical of the best expressions of Rioja Alta.
The harvest is carried out manually with a careful selection of the bunches in the vineyard and subsequent refrigerated transport to the winery. After an optical selection of the berries, the must ferments naturally and completes malolactic fermentation. The Tempranillo ages for 36 months in American oak barrels, while the Garnacha ages for 30 months, with 20% in new barrels, and undergoes five traditional manual rackings before bottling.
In appearance, it shows a bright cherry red color, medium-high intensity, with garnet reflections. The aroma is complex, with scents of redcurrant, plum, and cherry, enriched by balsamic and spicy notes of black pepper, licorice, vanilla, clove, and nutmeg. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with sweet and elegant tannins, and a long and lively finish that recalls its characteristic balsamic and spicy notes.
It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, flavorful roasts, and spicy dishes based on meat or vegetables.
