Description
Col d'Orcia's Rosso di Montalcino originates from vineyards situated on the Sant'Angelo in Colle hillside overlooking the Orcia river, in the heart of the Montalcino municipality. It is produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, hand-harvested only.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C for about 10-12 days. The wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months and for a further period in the bottle before release.
This Rosso di Montalcino is characterized by an intense ruby red color with violet highlights. The bouquet is intense and elegant with scents of ripe red fruits, enriched by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is warm and pleasantly full-bodied, with soft and elegant tannins. The wine offers a long, persistent, and fruity finish.
Best enjoyed within the first 5 years, this excellent Rosso di Montalcino is perfect for pairing with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
