Description
Mentioned by John Grisham in his novel The Broker, Liano by Umberto Cesari is a red wine of great character, born from the skillful union of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on moderately clay soils that contribute to its complexity and structure. The vineyards, with an average age of 15 years, ensure a balance between concentration and freshness, offering an elegant and well-balanced product.
Vinification takes place in dedicated fermenters with controlled temperature, with a long maceration of the skins to best extract aromas and structure. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak tonneaux, specifically from Allier, and is then refined for another 6 months in the bottle, enhancing its depth and harmony.
It shows an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet is ample and generous, dominated by notes of ripe forest fruits and sour cherry jam. On the palate, it is intense, smooth, and elegant, with balanced tannins and a long and harmonious finish that recalls spicy hints of black pepper.
It pairs perfectly with grilled beef fillet or dishes based on red meats and aged cheeses.
