Description
What type of wine is it
Saint-Julien 3ème Cru Classé from Château Langoa-Barton is a red Bordeaux wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Vinification is carried out by plot in large oak vats, and maturation continues for about 20 months, with 50% in new French oak barrels. The profile remains structured and well-defined, with prominent fruit and a spicy finish.
Where it comes from
It is born in Saint-Julien, in the Bordeaux area, where the Barton family has been connected to the estate since 1722. Château Langoa-Barton manages 18 hectares of vineyards in the area, interpreting a style consistent with the origin and with a tannic texture of good finesse.
How it's made
The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes are vinified separately by plot in oak vats. After fermentation, the wine matures for about 20 months in French oak, with half aged in new barrels, thus integrating the wood's contribution to the final profile.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a ruby red color with purple highlights. The nose focuses on red and black fruits, with hints of leather and spices. On the palate, it is structured, supported by fine and elegant tannins, finishing with a spicy and persistent aftertaste.
Pairings
It pairs well with richly flavored meat dishes. It is ideal with roast beef stuffed with prunes and pancetta, and with stewed meats, including game, where its structure and spiciness make a natural match.
When to serve
This is a red suitable for an important dining occasion, when you desire structure, fine tannin, and a spicy finish. Especially recommended for roasts and slow-cooked dishes, where its persistence perfectly complements the meal.
