Description

What kind of wine is it

Blumenfeld’s Gewürztraminer is a white wine produced in South Tyrol, crafted from the characteristic aromatic grape variety. It is a faithful expression of the varietal, able to combine remarkable flavor volume with a pleasing freshness. The vinification is carefully designed to preserve the aromatic clarity typical of this style and ensures a soft yet precise sip. This is a white wine capable of expressing the character of the region, harmoniously balancing complexity and smoothness.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown on steep, well-suited slopes around the municipality of Bolzano. The harvest takes place between September and October, in an area strongly associated with the cultivation of Gewürztraminer, whose name recalls the village of Termeno. The influence of this unique South Tyrolean terroir encourages optimal grape ripening and helps shape a wine with pronounced aromatic depth and a solid, well-defined flavor profile.

How it is produced

In the cellar, production begins with a short maceration of the grapes to extract aromatic compounds from the skins, followed by a very gentle pressing. The subsequent fermentation of the must takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. This technical choice is fundamental for preserving aromatic purity and enhancing the varietal's natural spicy notes, respecting its identity without alteration.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows a brilliant straw-yellow color with bright golden highlights. The aromatic profile is intense, featuring distinctive varietal scents of rose, lychee, and grapefruit, blended with delicate nuances of lime, cinnamon, and clove. On the palate, it is decidedly smooth and fresh, enveloping the mouth with a well-balanced taste texture and extending the persistence of each sip.

Food pairings

Its unique characteristics make it a perfect match for shellfish and enhance dishes where aromas play a primary role. It pairs beautifully with the richly scented dishes of Asian cuisine, as its pronounced smoothness expertly balances even the liveliest spices. It is equally successful alongside fresh cheeses or those of medium aging, and it enhances delicate dishes that require harmony and persistence.

When to serve

This Gewürztraminer is the ideal choice for convivial occasions when a intense and well-defined aromatic profile is desired. Thanks to its ability to harmonize aromatic complexity and palatal smoothness, it is enjoyable during lunches or dinners focused on spicy flavors and seafood. The interplay of volume and freshness makes it pleasant to drink from starters all the way through to the last courses.
