Description

The Terre Siciliane SP68 Rosso by Arianna Occhipinti comes from vineyards located south of the Iblei Mountains, in the municipality of Vittoria in the province of Ragusa. The SP68 is the road taken by farmers heading to their vineyards.

It is made primarily from Frappato and Nero d'Avola grapes, harvested between the last week of September and the first ten days of October. Fermentation takes place with a 15-day skin maceration using indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 6 months in cement tanks and for another 30 days in glass before being released to the market.

It has a ruby red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of currant and earth, enriched by notes of thyme and spices. Fresh and smooth on the palate, it features sweet tannins and great aromatic persistence.

It is a perfect match for pasta with meat ragout, stewed or grilled meats.
