Description

Bertinga's Sassi Chiusi originates from the vineyards of Gaiole in Chianti, in the Chianti Classico area.

Once harvested, the 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot grapes are vinified separately in steel and cement vats. The wine then ages in steel and cement for approx. 12 months, followed by 12 months in the bottle.

Brilliant ruby red in colour, the nose is expressed with aromas of ripe exotic fruit, peach and apricot, followed by notes of orange and pink pepper. The sip is decisive and soft, with dense tannins with a savoury and fresh finish.

It goes very well with baked pasta, grilled red meats and aged cheeses.
