Description
What kind of wine is it
Ciliegiolo di Narni Ràmici by Leonardo Bussoletti is a red wine made from 100% Ciliegiolo grapes, grown in the Ràmici area. It is vinified in steel with skin maceration and subsequently aged partly in wood and in the bottle, maintaining a crisp fruit profile and a soft, velvety tannic texture with good intensity and persistence.
Where it comes from
Ràmici originates from the area of the same name in the municipality of Alviano, in the province of Terni, in the Narni region. This geographical reference identifies the wine as a territorial expression of Ciliegiolo and as an interpretation focused on a specific area, useful for understanding a style centered on fruit, spice, and taste persistence in Umbria.
How it is made
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in steel for 15 days with skin contact. Maturation continues in tonneaux for 12 months, then in French oak barrels for a further 12 months. After the final blending, the wine completes its aging in the bottle for 8–12 months, progressively integrating structure and aromatic profile.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals black cherry notes, accompanied by spices and balsamic accents. On the palate, it offers good structure, with soft and velvety tannins and a long, complex finish, true to its maturation and aging process.
Best pairings
It pairs naturally at the table with pasta dishes featuring meat ragù, where its structure and tannins complement the richness of the sauce. It also matches well with roast meats, thanks to its persistence and spicy notes, and with medium-aged cheeses, supporting savoriness and richness without losing balance.
When to serve it
This is a red wine to choose when you desire structure and persistence for lunches and dinners with ragù, roast meats, or medium-aged cheeses. The long élevage between wood and bottle also makes it suitable for a focused tasting, to appreciate the integration of fruit, spice, and balsamic nuances in an orderly and continuous sip.
