Description
What type of wine is it
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Extra Dry Marca Oro by Valdo is a white wine produced exclusively from Glera grapes in the hilly area of Valdobbiadene. It stands out for its fresh and immediate style, with a medium body and a fine perlage, the result of the Charmat Method. Fermentation takes place in steel with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature, followed by secondary fermentation in autoclave and a brief bottle aging, steps that give the wine elegance and delicacy.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the hills of Valdobbiadene, in Veneto, at altitudes between 100 and 400 meters. The calcareous-marl soils and sunny exposures favor the balance between freshness and aromatic ripening of the Glera. The temperate climate, with significant temperature variations, contributes to the development of fragrant aromas. The area enjoys a historic reputation for the production of Prosecco Superiore and preserves a long winemaking tradition.
How it is produced
The Glera grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September to ensure optimal ripeness. After a gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts. The secondary fermentation lasts at least three months in autoclaves according to the Charmat Method, developing a fine and persistent perlage. The wine then refines for two months in bottle before release to the market.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it has a straw yellow color with golden reflections and a very fine and continuous perlage. On the nose, it reveals hints of wild apple and Golden apple, complemented by floral notes of acacia blossom and touches of honey. On the palate, it is delicate, medium-bodied, with a balance between lively acidity and residual sugar, offering a pleasant and slightly sweet finish.
Food pairings
Marca Oro by Valdo is ideal as an aperitif and successfully accompanies an entire meal, particularly fish dishes and delicate preparations. It pairs well with sea bass carpaccio, appetizers such as Venetian-style creamed cod, and seafood risotto. It is also suited to typical Venetian dishes like "sarde in saor" and "bigoli in salsa".
When to serve it
Thanks to its balanced structure and the freshness of Glera, this wine expresses its best within the first 12-18 months after bottling. It is recommended to enjoy it young to appreciate its aromatic vivacity, while its good acidity allows it to evolve briefly in bottle for up to two years.
