Description

Prelit is a red wine by Damijan Podversic, a grower from the Collio Goriziano, a borderland of wine along the Italy–Slovenia frontier. Like many other wineries in the area, Podversic does not use synthetic substances in the vineyard, thus supporting biodiversity.

Prelit is made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in truncated-cone vats. The wine ages for 36 months in 20–30 hl casks, followed by at least 1 year in bottle.

In the glass it shows a deep ruby-red color with garnet highlights. The nose reveals notes of wild berries, spices, and herbal tones. The palate is dry and well balanced, with polished tannins and a persistent finish.

Prelit pairs very well with red meats and game, whether braised or grilled.
