Description
What kind of wine is it?
Bes di Can Rich is a rosé wine produced in limited quantities, made from a blend of Tempranillo and Monastrell grapes. The wine, part of the Vino de la Tierra de Ibiza denomination, stands out for its focus on freshness and drinkability, with a clear aromatic profile and lively acidity. The winemaking process involves gentle pressing and fermentation at controlled temperatures to preserve the fruit's integrity. The absence of barrel ageing maintains a pure and balanced style, enhancing its natural varietal expression.
Where does it come from?
This rosé is made at the Can Rich estate in Buscastell, located in the inland area of Ibiza, within the Vino de la Tierra de Ibiza region. The land is characterized by limestone soils which help create a precise profile and contribute to excellent structural balance. The typical Mediterranean climate provides ideal thermal conditions for regular ripening, which is vital for preserving the grapes’ aromatic character and acidity. In this unique context, Tempranillo and Monastrell find the perfect microclimate to fully express themselves.
How is it made?
The grapes are harvested on the estate and undergo gentle pressing, essential for extracting a pale, aromatic must. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature, a technical choice aimed at retaining primary aromas and enhancing the clarity of the fruit. The process excludes the use of barrels to avoid the addition of toasted or spicy notes. This approach preserves the wine's original freshness and results in great aromatic purity and smoothness.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it appears brilliant, the result of rigorous and careful early-stage handling. The nose is fragrant, marked by clear floral hints of rose petals and lilac. There are also distinct red fruit nuances, notably wild strawberries and raspberries, complemented by notes of quince and dark plum. On the palate it displays an elegant texture, consistently supported by vibrant acidity, lending dynamism to every sip. The finish is fresh, balanced, and features lingering fruity sensations.
What does it pair with?
The lively character of this rosé makes it the ideal partner for seafood dishes, light appetizers, and gourmet cold salads. It complements fish-based preparations, enhancing their aromatic components without overpowering the delicate primary ingredients. Thanks to its local roots, it pairs perfectly with traditional recipes like the classic bullit de peix, its balance supporting the dish. It is also well-suited to vegetarian dishes and fresh fruit salads.
When to serve it
It's a top choice for occasions where fruit-forward freshness is essential, and is ideal from appetizers through to a seafood lunch. It's at its best when the menu features cold dishes and delicate ingredients, ensuring a persistent sense of balance and palate-cleansing clarity. The production method, eschewing barrel ageing, results in an essential, focused rosé. Its innate smoothness allows it to pair with a variety of light courses, always maintaining great precision on the palate.
