What type of wine is it
Bes by Can Rich is a certified organic rosé wine produced in limited quantities, made from a blend of Tempranillo and Monastrell. The wine, belonging to the Vino de la Tierra de Ibiza designation, stands out for its fresh, easy-drinking style, with a clear aromatic profile and vibrant acidity. The winemaking process involves gentle pressing and fermentation at controlled temperatures to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The absence of barrel ageing maintains a pure, balanced style that enhances the wine’s natural varietal expression.
Where it comes from
This rosé is born at the Can Rich estate in Buscastell, located in the inland area of Ibiza, within the Vino de la Tierra de Ibiza region. The area is defined by its limestone soils, which help create a precise profile and provide a good structural balance. The classic Mediterranean climate ensures ideal conditions for even ripening—key to preserving the grapes’ aromatic bouquet and vibrant acidity. In this unique context, Tempranillo and Monastrell find the ideal microclimate to fully express themselves.
How it is made
The grapes are harvested within the estate and undergo a gentle pressing, essential for extracting a pale, aromatic must. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, a technical choice aimed at retaining primary aromas and enhancing the clarity of the fruit. The process is managed without the use of barrels to avoid imparting toasted or spicy notes. This decision maintains the wine’s original freshness and delivers outstanding aromatic purity and smoothness.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it appears luminous, a result of rigorous and attentive initial processing. On the nose, it opens with a fragrant profile, marked by distinct floral notes of rose petals and lilac. Pronounced red fruit aromas follow, with wild strawberries and raspberries standing out, enriched by touches of quince and dark plum. On the palate, it reveals an elegant texture, consistently supported by a vibrant acidity that brings a lively energy to every sip. The finish is fresh and balanced, with lasting fruity highlights.
Food pairings
The lively nature of this rosé makes it the perfect match for seafood dishes, light appetizers, and gourmet salads served cold. The wine accompanies fish preparations beautifully, enhancing their aromatic components without overpowering the delicacy of the ingredients. Thanks to its connection to the island, it integrates seamlessly with typical recipes like the traditional bullit de peix, which is supported by the wine’s overall balance. It’s also a great fit for vegetarian dishes and fresh fruit salads.
When to serve it
This is an ideal choice for occasions that call for immediate fruit freshness, as it fits perfectly from aperitif to a seafood lunch. It shines especially when the menu features cold dishes and delicate ingredients, keeping a constant sense of balance and clarity on the palate. The approach without barrel ageing makes it a focused and essential rosé. Its inherent smoothness allows it to pair with various light courses, ensuring great flavor precision every time.
