Description
What kind of wine it is
The Nobile di Montepulciano Pieve Caggiole by Poliziano is a red wine made from 100% Sangiovese grapes.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Le Caggiole vineyard, located at about 350 meters above sea level, on tuffaceous soils of marine origin with clay, within the Nobile di Montepulciano appellation area.
How it is made
Harvesting is done by hand with a careful selection of the grapes. Fermentation and maceration take place in truncated-cone vats of stainless steel for an extended period, to promote precise extraction of color and aromatic compounds. Maturation continues in French oak tonneaux, where the wine gains in complexity and balance.
Tasting notes
In the glass it shows an intense ruby red color. On the nose it offers broad aromas of ripe cherry and small red berries, with floral and spicy notes and delicate toasted hints. On the palate it is structured yet harmonious, with well-integrated tannins, balanced freshness and a long, elegant, persistent finish.
Food pairing
Pairs well with substantial dishes based on red meats, braised dishes, game and aged cheeses.
When to serve it
Serve at 18°C, letting it breathe before consumption. Ideal for important dinners featuring structured meat dishes.
