Description

The Pinotage from the Signature Range by Alvi’s Drift is a South African red wine with a lively and approachable character, designed for those seeking an authentic and fruity experience. The winery is named after a bridge over the Breede River, built by the van der Merwe family, who still run the company with passion and expertise, producing wines appreciated internationally for their quality and personality.

The Pinotage grapes are handpicked during the cool morning hours, selecting only the best bunches. After destemming and crushing, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks for about seven days, with partial skin contact to intensify color and aroma. Subsequently, the wine is aged for up to two months in French and American oak barrels, to gain more complexity and harmony without losing its fruity expression.

With a lively purple color, this Pinotage reveals intense aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and a touch of cranberry on the nose, accompanied by delicate floral notes. On the palate, it unveils a juicy and fruity character, with bright acidity and soft, silky tannins, with a fresh and clean finish that enhances the wine's liveliness.

Ideal when paired with a platter of cured meats, cheeses like cheddar, or even sushi.
