San Felice is an innovative and adventurous company inimitably linked to 'Il Grigio', one of the most successful Chianti Classico Riserva ever. Their Chianti estate, in the Siena municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, has long set the benchmark for research and development on local grape varieties. San Felice has now added the Campogiovanni Estate in Montalcino and Bell'Aja in Bolgheri to their activity. This has only confirmed their skill, resourcefulness and commitment as one of Tuscany's top winemakers.

With its brilliant ruby-red colour, the Chianti Classico di San Felice has all the power of a Sangiovese from the start. At the same time, it balances compact hints of red fruits, pleasant tannins and a fresh acidity. Made with select Sangiovese grapes from San Felice's Chianti Classico vineyards, the Grigio Chianti Classico Riserva has a violet and red fruit aroma on the nose. It offers a rich round taste with soft tannins that are well integrated with cocoa and vanilla notes. The Gran Selezione (96 pt JS) version evokes currant and refined floral bouquet aromas on the nose. Long ageing gives it mature hints of cocoa, licorice and tobacco as well. Also worth trying is the famous Vigorello (94 pt JS), a precursor of the Supertuscans made for the first time in 1968. It's currently the first of its kind made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot together with the local Pugnitello. This combination results in a full and enveloping taste.
