Boodles
Boodles gin can be said to be the real London gin, produced, distilled and bottled entirely in the UK. It owes its name to the famous and prestigious London club for dandies of the time (mid-nineteenth century), frequented, among other high-sounding names, by the English Prime Minister Winston Churchill and the writer Ian Fleming. It was first produced in 1845 and, having become increasingly rare, precious and difficult to find over the centuries, was relaunched in 2013. The recipe is unique and contains a number of traditional spices and herbs, including sage, rosemary and nutmeg. With a pleasantly herbaceous flavor, it does not contain citrus fruits: it is a gin recognized by many as "an infusion of Englishness", a distillate for true gentlemen, which tells the glories of the noble club from which it takes its name.
