The Maison is located in Champillon, a few kilometers from Hautvillers, a mythical place in Champagne. According to tradition, in the ancient Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers, the monk Dom Pérignon perfected the Champenoise method of refermentation in the bottle. The vines are cultivated in a splendid territory, which is located halfway between the area of the Montagne de Reims and that of the Côte des Blancs. The Maison was founded by Alexandre Mea, descendant of an ancient family of vignerons who have been involved in viticulture for several generations. Today the estate covers a total of 15 hectares, divided into plots of great value. In a short time Carbon has established itself thanks to a spirit characterized by an almost maniacal perfectionism, which is also expressed in a particular packaging. The bottles are covered with a layer of carbon, which makes them aesthetically unmistakable, black, opaque and elegant. In addition to its aesthetic function, the carbon layer protects the precious wine from light, avoiding possible alterations. The bottles rest in the Maison's caves for at least 5 years before dégorgement, in order to achieve extraordinary maturity and gustatory complexity.
