Monacesca
The La Monacesca farm is located in the municipality of Matelica, in the heart of the terroir which, together with that of Jesi, made Verdicchio famous throughout the world. The business began in 1966, when Casimiro Cifola bought the farms and land of the current company, planting new vineyards. From 1973 onwards the real production began, with the first harvest of Verdicchio di Matelica, while in 1994, through the purchase of other land, new vineyards of Chardonnay, Sangiovese and Merlot were planted. Today La Monacesca, with a production of about 160 thousand bottles a year, is an important reality in the municipality of Macerata, always attentive to the quality standards that distinguish it and active in the role of extending the fame of Verdicchio and this terroir to which it is deeply connected.
