Cameronbridge
Cameronbridge is the oldest grain distillery in Europe, with a tradition in whiskey distillation, represented by the Haig and Stein families, which can be defined as centuries-old. The first trace of whiskey production is in 1655, when Robert Haig, exponent of the homonymous family, contrary to the current ecclesiastical ban, starts distilling on Saturdays. In 1751 his great-grandson John is married to Margaret Stein, whose family was already making whiskey in their Kilbagie and Kennetpans distilleries. Of their children, four became distillers, and the eldest son, John, founded Cameronbridge in 1824. To this day, the distillery is famous for being the whiskey supplier for the David Beckham / Diageo Haig Club monogrammed brand.
Jinzu Gin Cameronbridge
Jinzu is a parallel project carried out by the Cameronbridge distillery in Edinburgh which operates under the Diageo wing. It is the gin whose recipe was made by the professional bartender Dee Davis, which allowed him to win the 2013 "Show Your Spirit" race organized by Diageo herself. The product has been so appreciated as to become in all respects a product of the Diageo range and has also been perfected thanks to the intervention of the master distiller of Tanqueray: Tom Nichol.
