Douhairet-Porcheret
The Douhairet-Porcheret domaine, located in the picturesque village of Monthelie, in the heart of the renowned Côte de Beaune, brings with it a winemaking history of over 300 years. Originally founded by "monsieur" and "madame" Monthelie, the winery has passed through several generations maintaining its deep connection with tradition and territory. Extending over 13 hectares of vineyards, the domaine embraces the appellations of Pommard, Volnay and Meursault, areas famous for the production of some of the finest Burgundy wines. In 1970 Armande and Charlotte Douhairet inherited the entire family heritage but chose different destinies: Charlotte decided to sell her share of the vineyards, while Armande approached the idea of further raising the quality of the domaine. The arrival of André Porcheret in 1989, Armande's adopted son and highly talented winemaker, marked an era of rebirth for the domaine. André, already known for his role as director of the Hospices de Beaune, implemented innovative techniques that significantly improved the quality of wine production, without ever losing sight of respect for tradition.
Armande's death in 2004 was a difficult moment but it also represented a new chapter in the company's history: in the same year, André was joined by his granddaughter. About ten years later, in 2014, Vincent, originally from Belgium and Cataldina's partner, moved to Monthelie to join the family business. Cataldina and Vincent became the beating heart of the Douhairet-Porcheret domaine, bringing with them a deep love for viticulture. Today, Cataldina and Vincent passionately manage the 8 hectares of vineyards, taking care of 13 different denominations. Their approach is characterized by a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. The couple have modernized the winery and adopted sustainable winemaking techniques, earning HVE Level 3 certification, a recognition of their commitment to sustainability. The Douhairet-Porcheret domaine therefore represents not only a legacy of winemaking excellence, but also a living example of how respect for the land and innovation can go hand in hand in the creation of wines of extraordinary quality and character.
